I was skinny and athletic kid growing up. I dabbled with going to the gym to put on weight and get more muscular but didn’t have much direction. Fast forward to 2020, I had put on a lot of weight (from being ~144lbs in 2015 to 186lbs in 2020), had an unhealthy BMI and felt very unfit. I decided to go to the gym regularly but this time with the goal of losing weight and building a sustainable lifestyle. I would try to spend an hour at the gym but never really followed a balanced diet. I ended up putting on more weight in the process! It was October of 2020, and I was in a fitting room trying on a suit for my wedding. I had always thought that I would be my fittest self before my wedding and here I was looking at the mirror being the most unfit I’d ever been. That was my wakeup call…I had to make conscious changes to my lifestyle.

I happened to stumble on Vatsa’s instagram profile by chance and quickly became a big fan of his content because it was something I could relate to. I followed his shred series closely and always knew that I wanted to work with him if he ever started a coaching program. I started my 2021 transformation with Vatsa in March with the goal of losing weight, getting stronger and building a sustainable healthy lifestyle. For starters, Vatsa took the time to really understand my goals, my experience at the gym with exercises, fitness level and dietary preferences. He took a thoughtful approach to building a structured plan for me. I loved how he created my diet plan – he included foods I liked and was used to eating. While following a diet requires discipline, he made it so much easier for me to follow and enjoy!

Vatsa ensured that I completely understood the workout schedule/diet and was always available whenever I had questions (which was super helpful). Vatsa would always check in to make sure I was on track and gave me the sense of accountability I needed. He’d review videos of my form while I was at the gym, make sure that I was doing it correctly and targeting the right muscles.

Over the last few months, I moved to a new house, started a new role at work, travelled 4 times, got my vaccination twice and even had my wisdom teeth removed. Through all of this, Vatsa always kept me motivated, ensured I prioritized my life events and enjoyed my vacations. His level of clarity in communication, responsiveness and support really pushed me to stick the course. Over the last few months, Vatsa has gone from being coach to becoming a good friend
Armed with a structured workout plan and diet, all I had to do was put in the work. This mean cutting off junk food, fighting off cravings and making lifestyle changes. While it was hard at first, I stuck to it and progressively started to see results – I was losing weight and getting stronger. One of my biggest take aways though the course of my transformation with Vatsa was being able to learn more about nutrition, fitness and most importantly my own body. By no means was this a get fit quick or lose 20lbs in 2 months program.
What I loved about Vatsa’s approach was that it was built around my preferences, it was healthy and most importantly, SUSTAINABLE!

Over the last 4 months, I went from weighing 186lbs to weighing 165 lbs today. Went from being the most unfit I had been to the strongest and fittest I’ve been in my life. While there is a ton of content online and so many trainers out there, Vatsa was the right coach for me and I’m so glad I got the chance to work with him. The results speak for themselves and he has set me up with a foundation to lead a healthy lifestyle!
